Shadow and us decided that we wanted to do a page that paid tribute to our cat mommy so here it is.

This is our cat mommy, Duchess.  Isn't she pretty?  She was a farm cat who lived with our 2 legged sister.

A long time a go, in cat years, our mommy was married to another human.  She lived on the farm.  One day she noticed that there were 4 kittens living in a ditch in front of the farm.  She would walk down to take the kittens food and after a while, they came to trust her enough to let her touch them.  One day it rained really hard and the ditch the kittens lived in flooded.  Our mommy was there to rescue the kittens and she moved them up to the farm.  The man at the farm told our mommy and her daughter, our 2 legged sister, that they could only keep one of the kittens.  Our 2 legged sister choose our cat mommy.

Our 2 legged sister loved our mommy very much and would bring her inside when ever she could, but the man at the farm wouldn't let her stay inside for long.  He also thought it cost to much  money to have her spayed like we are, so before to long our cat mommy started having kittens of her own.  Below is a picture of her first litter.

Before to long our human mommy decided that she had had enough being married to the man on the farm, but that is a different story, and she divorced him.  She already felt bad enough for disrupting our 2 legged brother and sister's lives that she decided not to disrupt it any more by moving them out of the farm house and into an apartment, so she let them continue living at the farm.

Well, eventually our human mommy married our daddy and they decided that they wanted a cat.  Our 2 legged brother and sister had been telling them all along that they needed one and the result was first Shadow coming home, then a year later us twins.

Our 2 legged sister told us that a few months after we moved home, our cat mommy, Duchess disappeared.  She assumed that she died.  Life can be hard for a farm cat.  We sure are glad that our mommy saved us and brought us home to live.
