We have added a special page her that tells about our cat mommy. You can use the link above to go read about her.
We have taught our two legged Mommy and Daddy to take good care of us. They take us to the vet regularly to make sure that we are up to date on all of our vaccinations. They have also made sure that we have all been spayed or neutered. We thought that we would share with you some of the joys and responsibilities of being owned by a loveable cat.
We don't have to have a pedigree to be a good pet. If Mommy wouldn't have brought the two of us and our sister Miss Shadow home, we would of ended up at the pound or worse. We are very glad that she brought us home, it didn't take us long to convince her that we needed to be spoiled. Your local animal shelter is a good place to find a cat, too. Our uncle Peaches was found at our area's Humane Society. He was 4 months old when Mommy brought him home. She didn't want to get a cat older than Shadow, because she can be over possessive of Mommy and Daddy. We have heard that he was a real scaredy cat when Mommy brought him home. He still doesn't like other people much, but loves Mommy and Daddy. If you are looking for a specific characteristic in a cat, then by all means look into a purebreed.
It does cost quite a bit to keep us healthy and happy. We need to be taken to the vet for check ups and vaccinations. We also need to have food, kitty litter, and toys to play with. We can live to be 18 years or older when kept inside. That can add up to be a large investment over the years, but don't worry, we will repay you with much love and company.
It is very important that you have us spayed or neutered. Not only will you help cut down on the number of unwanted cats, but you will also help us live a longer and happier life.
In just seven years, one female cat and her young can produce 420,000 kittens.
Spaying and neutering will help keep us from the howling, pacing, and spraying everything in the house.
Spaying and neutering will help us live a longer and healthier life. A female cat who has had even one litter of kittens runs a greater chance of contracting breast cancer. She also runs a greater risk of pyometra, a uterine infection that can be fatal, if she is not spayed.
Neutering a male cat can sometimes make him even more playful. It also eliminates testicular cancer and decreases the incidence of prostate disease.
We are better off kept inside. That way we are not in danger of traffic and other animals. We are usually happy having a window to look out. If you do let us, make sure you keep an eye on us. Our mommy lets us outside every so often, but she is always there with us keeping an eye on us.
We don't need a lot of expensive toys to be happy. Our favorite toys are stuffed mice, boxes, the little ring thing off the milk jugs Mommy and Daddy drink, that little red light that Daddy brings out at times, each other, and best of all Mommy and Daddy.
There are alternatives to declawing us. Our Mommy and Daddy has scratching post for us and clips our claws. We are very well behaved kitties that do not scratch up the good furniture. Mommy and Daddy thought that was better then having us declawed, especially since declawing involves removing not only the claw but also the first bone of the toe,
