This tutorial is written for PSP 7.
You will need a gold gradient and a rose tube for this tutorial. I have included both in a zip file you can download here. Place the gradient in your gradient folder under Jasc Software/Paint Shop Pro 7. Place the tube in your tube folder or open it and export it as a tube.

Step 1
Open a new image that is 350 x 350 with a transparent background.
The squares that show in your background will be used as guides in later steps.
Step 2
Select your Preset Shapes Tool and set it for heart 1. Make sure it is set for Retain Style. Draw a heart so it fills most of the image.
Step 3
Now go to Select/Select All then Select/Float. Copy this. Then go back to Select/ Select All and hit delete. Now Paste as a new layer. This step will center your heart in your image.
Step 4
Go to Select/Select All, then Select/ Float.
This is what you should have.
With the heart still selected go to Select/Modify/ Contract by 10 pixels. Hit delete then Select None.
Step 5
Now you are going to draw the lines to make your lattice pattern. Set your foreground to black and select your Draw Tool. Use the following settings, Single Line, Antialias checjked, width at 10.
Starting at the top peak of the heart from one side to the other. Use the squares that show as a guide for spacing and for making sure they are fairly straight.
Continue until you have drawn lines in one direction.
Now Edit/ Copy what you have. Then paste as a new layer. After that Image/ mirror and the opposite set of lines is done. Make sure you go to Layers/ Merge Visible before going to the next step.
Step 6
Select your Magic Wand and set it to the following, Match Mode - RGB Value, Tolerance - 2. Click anywhere on the black lines to selcet.
Step 7
Now go the Select/Modify/ Contract and contract by 2 pixels.
Step 8
Select your Flood Fill Tool. Choose a gold gradient. I used the one included in the zip file above and set it to the following settings.
Now flood fill your selection.
Leave selected.
Step 9
Apply an Inner Bevel using the following settings.
Your heart is now completed. Select none.
To add the ribbon and the rose go on to the next page.
