I took a step forward today,
A step in finding out about me.
I stood up for myself today,
Defending my right to be.
I followed my heart,
Protected myself, 
Doing what I felt was right.

I pushed myself to new limits today,
Not afraid to exert myself.
I found a strength deep inside myself,
A strength everyone needs.
So long it was lost,
Hidden from myself,
But today I found a piece of it.

I am moving closer to finding myself,
To being all that I can be.
I am becoming the best that I can be,
Growing more with each passing day.
Finding my niche in the world,
The role that I am to play,
Becoming who God meant me to be.
