The adventures begin as the crew of the Shootingstar becomes entangled in the fight for freedom of the planet Akbar from the rule of the Galmorian Empire. Ride along with the crew of the Shootingstar as they search for the long lost, and now mythical, ship Samara.

Once the most powerful ship of the early Star Union Starfleet, Samara now floats somewhere in the floating scrap yard know as the Phoenix Cluster.  Can the Shootingstar’ crew find the Samara? If so will they be able to get the massive ship operational in time to help the Akbarians?

The Star Union faces a most challenging time as the Galmorian Empire sends its demands of surrender to the Star Union Counsel. In an attempt to hold back the threat of the Galmorian Empire Councilman Taka Alon is presented with the starship Samara and a offer to help defend the Starunion from the Galmorian Empire.

Unaware of the events unfolding around the planet Thelon II, Kurtis Star and the crew of the Shootingstar stumble into the middle of the conflict.

Tolan, the planetary representative to the Starunion had asked Kurtis Star to take him home to Altear.  Kurtis had once promised himself that he would never return to Altear with Sintara aboard the Shootingstar and so Sintara was left on Thelon 2.

It was on Altear that Sintara was taken to Tarish on phony charges.  When Kurtis found out about her imprisonment, he tried to gain her freedom through legal channels only to find the legal system corrupt.  He found that her fictitious crime carried the sentence of life imprisonment and she would never be allowed to leave Tarish, let alone Altear.  Kurtis, known for his short temper took matters into his own hands.

On a routine charter trip to the planet Thetis, the crew of the Shootingstar encounters a determined Mycelexian pirate and find themselves in a pitched battle for their lives.

For Kurtis, this battle opens the door to a personal mystery that he cannot ignore.
