she lay in bed in that cold room,
she heard the beeping of the heart monitor,
the lights began to fade around her,
the beeping grew real slow,
her breath eased down to almost nothing,
then her boyfriend cam in and held her hand,
she saw his face all wet with tears,
the beeping increased, her breathing grew,
he stroked her face and whispered softly,
"I love you, don't leave" he kissed her again,
she gasped for air and tried to say "I love you to",
he broke down crying as she slowly died,
the beeping fading in the distance,
then she managed to say "I love you" with one last breath,
and she slipped away,
he whispered softly,
"don't leave me now, come back to me"
